Event Submission Guidelines:

Submit Your Event in Maquoketa/Jackson County

Event Submission Guidelines

We love helping you get the word out! Whether you're hosting something for locals or drawing visitors from across the region, our event page is a great way to spread the news. Before you submit, please take a moment to review the guidelines below to help your event get approved quickly.

Event Type Submissions should feature something beyond your day-to-day business operations — think special occasions, seasonal events, or unique experiences that give people a reason to show up.
Review Process Every submission is reviewed by the Visit Maquoketa team. We may make light edits for clarity, accuracy, or to align with our brand voice before publishing.

Approval We do our best to list as many events as possible, but approval is not guaranteed. Some submissions may require adjustments before they can be posted.

Images Include at least one high-quality, high-resolution photo that represents your event. Images should be 880 pixels wide and 1072 pixels tall  with a file size of approximately 2–6 MB. Please note: no logos, text overlays, AI-generated images will be accepted as your primary photo. Please do not submit  your flyer as your photo.

Description Write a minimum of two sentences in third person that clearly describes your event. Be sure to include key details such as time, location, admission cost, and any age restrictions.
Timing Submissions are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. For the best chance of being listed, please submit your event at least two weeks in advance.

Categories Our team may adjust your event's category to help it reach the most relevant audience.

Community Events Hosting a class, workshop, seminar, or local meetup? Please select the Community Happenings category when submitting.
